IWC Engineer – F1’s Nico Rosberg

Gentlemen, start your chronographs! Our new film for the IWC Engineer’s Collection premiered at the annual SIHH Watch Show in Geneva.

The film honors the partnership between IWC and the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team. This cooperation is forged by their common aspiration for a craftsman’s know-how alongside pushing the boundaries of engineering and mechanics. For the Engineer Collection the racing materials carbon, ceramics, and titanium were used. IWC’s designers looked to the racing world for inspiration, where the silver-arrowed watch face dial mirrors the fittings of the silver arrow F1 car.

We shot this film and other IWC spots on the grounds of the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team in Brackley, England. The film shows Formula 1 World Champion Nico Rosberg in an intense training session. In pulse-racing cinematography, stylish close-ups of the watches evoke the look and feel of the racing world. These were shot with special motion-control technology. The films are used for IWC’s global marketing of this collection.
